Message from our President

Seventy years in business doesn’t mean a thing unless you’re solving customer challenges today. Over those decades, we developed a foundational culture that has helped us transform several times. I am indebted to my dad, who was a ‘seat of the pants’ entrepreneur who authentically loved our staff and our customers, enjoyed kidding with them, telling his latest joke, and even sharing a cigar!

Today, our greatest joy comes from a completed project and building enthusiastic referrals. On the packaging equipment front, we support customers who experience the satisfaction of rescuing their companies from the burden of low level manual tasks while shepherding them to automated processes. They deliver to their companies accelerated ROI results, fewer staffing headaches and upgraded capacity, all the while paving the way for profitable growth.

Timeline

1950
Martin Dover incorporates Supreme Bag, an enterprise dedicated to the supply of jute bags.

1952
Supreme Bag becomes Dover Pad and is focused on supplying the Canadian moving industry with quilted pads and related products.

1960’s
Dover Pad broadens its customer base to include more general industry. We added material handling products, furniture repair products, etc.

1970’s
Packaging products are added as focus shifts to predominantly industrial customers.

1980’s
The company establishes itself as a single-source for warehouse and packaging supplies and equipment.

1991
Dover Pad becomes Doverco Inc. to better reflect the company’s national status and varied product offerings.

1996
We begin selling and servicing packaging machinery eventually becoming a regional power house due to our expertise and commitment to maintaining a deep inventory.

2007
Our first CAP (Core Advantage Program) customer comes on board as we help them reconfigure their entire store supplyprocurement process creating significant savings and ease of use.

2014
We become practitioners of Lean thinking; implementing a continuous improvement philosophy on all aspects of operations, from the warehouse to the office to our washrooms!

2015
Our move into our new facility allows for a spacious area to allow customers to see the machine of their choice in action running their product.

2018
We become strategic partners with Markem-Imaje as authorized and factory trained providers of their global leading coding and marking products as well as inks, solvents, parts and service, both at our facility and at customers’ locations.

2020
Sealed Air Corporation appoints Doverco a strategic partner for the distribution and service of their recently acquired division Automated Packaging Systems. APS manufactures automated bagging equipment and materials for a wide range of industries including e-Commerce fulfillment, medical supplies and food packaging.

Today
In order to offer a full suite of leading edge customer service tools, we deployed an upgrade of our business software to cloud versions which keep us seamlessly up to date with the most current features. We now have a fully aligned ERP, CRM, Field Service, and Web Hosting allowing us to continue our growth and service excellence into the next decades.
